HELPFUL WASHING MACHINE REPAIR TIPS

Problem/Symptoms Things to Check/Correct Result
Not Working at all/dead Is it plugged in? No? Plug it in. If it’s working, good job!

 

If still not working, please contact us for service.

Plug can work loose, make sure it is tight
Is there power to the plug? If not try plugging it into another outlet.
Check/reset breaker
Not filling/no cold or hot water Check to make sure the water has not been turned off / hot & cold…
Water inlet screen may be clogged-turn off water and remove hose cold and/or hot at machine to check screen.
Do not remove screen from valve!…Gently remove debris and squirt water in to flush.
Won’t agitate after filling

Not draining/not spinning

Some washers will fill but not agitate/drain or spin with the lid open…..Close lid.
Top load washer Make sure the door is closed so it can lock.
Front load washer Make sure the door is closed so it can lock.
Won’t Drain Check drain line for kink(s) or blockage.
Leaking Examine cold and hot fill hoses both at the machine and at the faucet:

  • If leaking at the fitting, then try tightening a little. Some hoses have a washer that can be replaced, otherwise the hose may need to be replaced.
  • If the hose is leaking, then it will have to be replaced.
Make sure that the drain hose has not come out of the drain. If so, re-insert and secure in place.
Examine the drain hose and the drain hose fittings for leaks. If it is leaking, it will have to be repaired or replaced.
If it is leaking from underneath, then it is best left to a professional.
